My Poem
This week on our task sheet we had to upload a peice of recent work, I was really proud of my poem that I completed last week. So, I decided to post it. Here it is!
Waterfall River
Trees enclosing me at every step,
Water crawling up my legs.
Heart pounding in my ear,
As it draws near.
Water pushing me,
As I fight my way to what will be seen.
Grass waving a simple, Hello, at my side.
A bird glides above me as fast as wind in a storm.
Water spray’s my face lightly,
I hold on to a rock tightly.
I hear the water falling from a cliff,
Everyone said it was a myth.
But here I am,
Standing in front of a waterfall,
A stunning moment that I have captured.

I liked this piece of work because I love water and nature. When I found out that I could write a poem, water instantly came into my head. I think that personification brings the story to life and that description is the key to sucess. Writing is very expressionate and brings out strong feelings that you can write on paper. I went to this waterfall and remember it vividly, it was a windy day but I loved seeing the waterfall. I wish to write some more poems later in the school year.
