The Hunger Games book review

The Hunger games
By Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Games book was published in September 2008 and followed by her sequels; Catching fire and Mockingjay. Since then, it has become a major motion picture showing in nearly every country.
Katniss Everdeen is a sixteen year old girl that faces a struggle to become the 74th annual Hunger Games victor.
She volunteers as tribute after her twelve year old sister gets picked at the reaping. Katniss is determined to keep her family safe at any cost, even if it means her own life.
Peeta Mellark is a strong and courageous young man who fell in love with Katniss the moment he set eyes on her. He proclaims his love for her in his interview with Ceaser Flickerman, “There is this one girl, I’ve had a crush on for a while now.”

Peeta then became very protective of her and would have done anything for her. Katniss plays along, acting as if she is in love with Peeta. Peeta and Katniss have been renamed the Star crossed lovers from District 12.
“He made you look desirable! And lets face it, you could use all the help you can get in that department. He is helping you get sponsors”
This book is aimed at young adults and I rate this book a five out of five.
Suzanne Collins is very good at using expression through her writing and makes the reader feel like they are with the Characters. I hope to see more books written by Suzanne Collins.
